BSNL to launch trio of tenders

BSNLis preparing to float a number of tenders this month with a view
to purchasing telecoms equipment designed to both expand and upgrade
its existing networks. According to The Financial Express, BSNL is
planning to acquire 5,000 digital satellite phone terminals in a deal
expected to be worth around INR610 million (USD13.23 million), while
a separate tender for equipment to run some six million telephone and
broadband lines, worth INR6 billion is also set to be launched by the
end of the month. A third contract is also up for grabs, with BSNL
seeking a vendor to provide it with five million telephones with
caller identification features, in a deal valued at around INR2.5
billion.
