It simply adds your selected retirement age to your date of birth. For example, if you were born on 15 August 1980 and your retirement age is 60, you will retire on 15 August 2040. From that date, it also calculates the number of days remaining and the approximate working days left from today.
The retirement age set by your employer or organisation. Check your appointment letter, HR policy or service rules. In India, 58 or 60 years is common for private and government employees, while some companies and PSUs use 55, 58, or half ages such as 55½. The default here is 65 — change it to match your organisation.
Half retirement ages mean 55 years and 6 months, or 65 years and 6 months. Some organisations retire employees mid-year based on the half-age rule. Selecting the ½ option automatically adds six months to your date of birth.
It counts only Mondays to Fridays between today and your retirement date. It does not exclude public holidays, casual leave, earned leave or company-specific holidays, so your actual working days will be slightly lower. Treat it as a close estimate.
Yes. For retirement purposes, a 29 February birthday is treated as 28 February in non-leap years, so your retirement date lands correctly at the end of February. The day dropdown also prevents you from ever selecting an impossible date such as 31 February.
