The General Secretary discussed the following issues in the corporate office with senior officers.
a. Stagnation of RMs/Goup D on account of IDA merger. It is intimated that the 3 senior GMs committee is looking into the issue and a positive out come is expected at the earliest.
b. Erosion of wages in respect of officials who are appointed / promoted after 1.1.2007. The GS pleaded for an early settlement of the issue. It was emphasized that advance increments as given in respect of JAO/JTO be given to all these officials who are affected.
c.Revision of RRs of TM./TTM/JTO :It was intimated to the GS that the issue is being formulated and an early action is expected.
d.Compassionate appointments: The GS pleaded for modification of the existing guidelines so that all the cases can be cleared.
e. The General Secretary met Shri S.C.Misra , Member Services DOT and discussed about issue of orders for pensioners in respect of merger of additional IDA of 9.4%. It is intimated that the case is under finalization and orders are expected soon. The General Secretary also invited Shri Misra Ji to the ensuing All India Conference of BTEU BSNL to be held in Nasik. He has consented and the final programme would be intimated subject to exigencies.
f. The GS demanded that Bonus should be paid to all the employees immediately and pending finalization of the new bonus formula demanded that one month basic pay should be given to all the employees. For details see link issues taken up.
g. Review of results of JAO Part II exam,
h Regularization of officiating JTOs: The matter is in a very advanced stage. The legal opinion is very clear and the BSNL Board is to approve for creation of supernumerary posts which may take another couple of weeks time.
i.Five day week working pattern
j.Reduction of residency period of NE 11 to NE 12 under NEPP

The GS attended a meeting of the Forum of Unions and Associations of BSNL and strongly pleaded that the forum should agitate on the issue of payment of Bonus. The GS suggested that all the General Secretaries should sit on hunger strike for 48 hours immediately. The convener Shri Namboobiri ji, stated that he would consult other General Secretaries who were not present in the meeting and fix up the dates.
